Blakesburg Iowa May 16 1876 Mr Geo S. Finney I Recd a letter from you some two wwks ago, and have delayed answering longer then usual. I do not now recollect the date, as I have mislaid it. I recollect you mentioned getting $4.00 per [play?day?] with a prospect of haveing it increased to $5.00 well that is good wages, compared with what is paid here. times are very dull here, money matters are working very close. we have had a very wet backword spring, this is now 16th and we have only 6 acres of corn planted Every boddy is very much behind with there work,
