trial comes off on the 25 Inst. they gave Bill a short form of trial and let him go home, they think he will be an important witness, he told Sturat the Lawyer that Plese was the one who shot into our house and that he tryed to have him (Bill) to help do the job. the devence are doing there best to manage to get Bill out of the way. F Barns is red hot about the way things are runing, Sam Miller has resigned his office of Sheriff, his securities would not remain on the Bond. Parkhurst and Sam Miller they say will be arrested soon they have some danageing testimony againt them Espicelloy Please, Sammie is still very poorly he went to town yesterday to have a place Lanced on the side of his face, he wont be able to do any thing this sumer. I had to hire an other hand, (Bill King) at 20$ per mo. all in usual health, except Sammie. when you write give particulars of your trip. how was the stock when you got out, the diference between driving & shipping &c Miles Folks are all well. from your Father &c S G Finney
