& [surname?] (mine) 100$ and Bob was to give me mortgage on 4 head of horses and two wagons & Reaper & mower, on one years time at 10 per c Int. and would send you Mortgage for record at once, but have not got it fixed yet, he is tangled up with [Thussell?] and if that is made straight  why then we can fix our Matter, I tel you Bob is a Curious Chicken to have any thing to do with. I thought like this If you had the Claim there you you could manage to get his 160 of land where the home is, he asks 500$ for it, and If you had to Enter it, It would be 200$ more, dont know if it is worth it or not. Stocker & Rader could not pay any thing now. The man you sold out to, has worked hard and all he rased would not more than pay rent for the place. I thought perhaps I would get out there this fall, but have to much to do, all in usual health, write often have you heard from Frank lately? from your Father &c SG Finney
