Blakesburg Ia 8-12-85 Mr Geo S Finney Chambers Neb Haveing a leisure moment thought I would write you a few lines. We are done harvesting, no grain stacked yet, we have had some very [warm? worm?] weather, but more plesant now, the grass hoppers are very numerous with us, they have damaged the wheat, oats, & grass and they have already damaged the corn a good deal. We get letters from Frank frequently, we had a letter from Annie a few days ago. Prospects for good crops were good. Emma was in Otto last week & will be all this week attending the normal, her school will [commence] first of Sept. at [Christmas? Christians? Christiansburg? Christiansbury?]
