48 Mrs. A. G. Waffle was hostess to the Cary Club the afternoon of January 17, 1937. The president and vice-president both being absent the secretary acted as the presiding officer. After roll call, the secretary gave a report of the January 4 meeting which was approved as read. Mrs. W. S. Winter gave a report of the Federation meeting. A motion was made and seconded that the flower committee send cards to Mrs. Addie Shumack and Mrs. Esther Griffith, carried. The program was as follows: Mrs. W. S. Winter reviewed the book, Vein of Iron, by Ellen Glasgow. There were nine present. The club adjourned to meet February 1, with Mrs. Addie Shumack. Aea B. Price, Secretary.
