Realizing that Iowa is one of the most backward states in Industrial work for women, we heartily endorse the survey to be made this year by the Womans division of the Labor Bureau and pledge our support to this work. Believing in women and mothers our voices and opinions are needed where ever women and children are concerned, we hereby ask our legislative committee to urge the legislature to strike out the work male in art. 3, section 4 and 5 of the constitution of Iowa in order that women may be eligible to the offices of representative and senates in our general Assembly; to arrange further presentations of a bill to our next legislature; to provide for women on all boards in [illegible] order that oversight and proper care may be given to our sex and to this coming generation. We recomend the appointment of a committee from this league to cooperate with other state organizations in the formation of a committee to site and recomend pending legislation. We recomend the appointment of a finance committee in our State League. Resolved that a letter of affectionate greeting be send from this convention to our friend and co-worker, Dr. Effie Mc Cullen Jones, who labored as earnestly and consistently in Iowa and the Nation to bring about the victory we celebrate today. Over joy would be more complete if she were here to rejoice and council with us. Signed - Matilda E. Patterson chairman. Mrs. Carl E. [Seashone?]. Blanche B. Reid. Sep 24 - 1920
