Congressman Horace M. Towner and to Senator W.C. Kenyon its heart felt gratitude for the inestimable service rendered to this motherhood and child life of this nation in sponsoring and securing this passage of this Sheppard-Towner Bill. carried. Mrs. Max Mayer offered the following resolution. The Iowa League of Women Voters in convention assembled November 22, Fort Des Moines Hotel, Des Moines, unanimously adopted resolutions of appreciation and thanks; to the Des Moines Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Division for the splendid co-operation, generous gifts and financial assistance. To the management of the Fort Des Moines Hotel for the perfect consideration and accommodation of the convention delegates and guests. To the Press for a service which cannot be expressed in terms of gratitude but which is measured by the success of the convention. To the Harris-Emery Company for the beautiful and appropriate decorations. To the Des Moines Automobile Club for its courteous provision of automobiles for those who could avail themselves of the pleasure of the sight-seeing tour. To Miss Harsh, the Local Executive Convention Chairman whose competent and effective leadership insured through her various committee chairman and members, the unparalleled success of our regional convention of the League of Women Voters. To our National officers and members of national committees whose presence glorified this occasion and contributed so largely to its success. To Mrs. Paige of Minneapolis, the fifth regional Chairman, League of Women Voters, whose tactful, enthusiastic and inspiriting counsel gave us the vision and its realization. To the Des Moines Federation of Womens Club and its President, Mrs. I.H.Tomlinson, for charming hospitality expressed in warm welcome and continues courtesies. To the various organizations which invited and entertained many of our national and state officers as guests and speakers. To Governor and Mrs. Kendall whose presence and interest assures and understanding leadership. To our President of the United States, Warren G. Harding, for his letter of encouragement and approval and to the governors of those states in in our region who sent messages of congratulations. over to page 31
