Pre-Convention Board Meeting. Wednesday evening Oct 24 - 1923 the Board of the Iowa League of Women Voters met for dinner at the Fort Des Moines Hotel with the following present - Mrs Tomlinson, President Mrs Passig, Mrs Max Mayer, Miss Anna Drake, Mrs Elmer Taylor of Traer, Mrs Ruste, Mrs Billingste, Dr Margaret Mills, Mrs Sale, Mrs Mc Kim and Mrs Knutson After dinner the Board opened the business session on the mezzanine floor of the Fort Des Moines Hotel with the same members present with the addition of Mrs Fred Hunter. The President Mrs I.H. Tomlinson presided. Mrs Fred Hunter as chairman of the committee on Constitution gave a report of the proposed amendments. A discussion followed on the proposed amendments. Mrs Passig moved that we incorporate Sec. 2 of Article 5 in our Constitution and adapt it to our use and Mrs Ruste seconded this motion and was carried. The President entrusted Mrs Hunter to so redraft. Mrs Ruste moved that the Board of Directors approve the report of the Constitution Com. as presented, seconded by Dr Mills and carried. The President Mrs Tomlinson spoke of the matter of Resolutions She urged especially that the chairmen of Committees present resolutions. The President also spoke of the Legislative program. The Treasurer Mrs Passig gave a very fine report. Mrs Ella Mc Kim moved that the report of the Treasurer be accepted, seconded by Miss Anna Drake and carried. A telephone message was reported saying that Mrs W.W. Carter of Corydon was going to bring to the bandquet Friday night the father (Judge Hallel of Corydon) of the hero of Miss Katherine May's story "Justice for All" Hazel Wood Knutson, Sec
