Board Meeting December 17 - 1923. Monday, December 17 - 1923 the Board of Directors of the Iowa League of Women Voters met in regular session at the League Headquarters at 507 Shopps Bldg. Des Moines, Ia. The President, Mrs Clark E. Daniels presided with the following members present. Mrs Max Mayer, 2nd Vice Pres., Mrs Robert Jackson, Treas. of the I.L.W.Voters, Mrs I.H. Tomlinson, organizer, Mrs Fred Hunter, chairman of International Co-operation to Prevent War, Mrs Jordan and Mrs Clarence Knutson, Recording Sec. The minutes of the Board meeting of Dec 6 were read & approved. Mrs Tomlinson reported on the special committee for the Catt lecture. The report was splendid and at the conclusion introduced the Treasurer of the Committee Mrs Jordan who gave a very complete report. Over 600 tickets were sold. A vote of thanks was given to Mrs Jordan for her untiring work in promoting the Catt lecture The Treasurer of the I.L.W.Voters gave an informal report. Mrs Mayer moved that the President be empowered to O.K. the bills read having been allowed the requisitions made for the Treasurer. Mrs Hunter seconded the motion. Carried. Under unfinished business the subject of a Constabulary was discussed. The President appointed the following committee Mesdames Tomlinson, Mayer, Hunter, Knutson, Jackson to look into the subject. The President raised the question of files and was empowered to obtain the necessary material.
