The afternoon session of the I. L. of W. Voters Special Convention opened in regular session at 1:45 immediately following the luncheon conference on Child Welfare with the Honorable James Weaver as speaker. The President Mrs Daniels presided. The minutes of the morning session were read and approved. The President displayed the gavel of the I. L. of W. Voters and told its history. The latest Iowa Bulletin was offered to the delegates. The question arose about our participation in party politics and our endorsement of candidates and in reply an article in the Iowa Bulletin was read. Miss Sara Goodman presented the report of MIss Blanche Wingate, chairman of the press and publicity committee which is composed of 18 newspaper women. Report was accepted and filed. Mrs Mayer moved that a note of appreciation be sent to Miss Wingate for her work and that of her committee. Motion seconded by Mrs Hunter. Motion carried. Mrs Morris presented the proposed Financial Plan for 1924-1925. A spirited discussion followed. Mrs Stromston of Iowa City suggested that a model ward would function by obtaining a woman in each block responsible for a 25 sent dues of every woman in the block. Mrs Mayer moved to recommend to the Executive Com. to discontinue issuing of the printed Bulletin and in its place the publication of a mimeograph bulletin whenever needed. Motion seconded by Mrs Stromston. Carried. Mrs Sam Wolf of Charles City spoke of the finance plan + advocated 30% of friends of local league ticket.
