158 Report of nominating committee by Mrs. Sale of Mason City, chairman. For President Mrs. Max Mayer, Des Moines Nominations from floor were asked for Mrs Million was omitted for President. Mrs Passig moved that nominations be closed. Seconded by Mrs. Hunter. Motion carried. !st Vice " Mrs Clarence Kerritson, Clear Lake 2nd " " Mrs Oscar Ruff Sioux City 3rd " " Mrs Sam Wolf Charles City 4th " " Mrs P. S. Irvine Davenfort Recording Sec. Mrs Gordon Elliot Des Moines Treasurer Miss Bonnie Marshall Des Moines. Mrs. Littell as chairman of Elections Committee reported polls ready. Miss Drake announced polls would be open till 11:30. Recess 10 minutes Called to order by Pres. Resolutions Committee adjourned to room to prepare resolutions. Mrs. Fred Hunter completed her report and moved that Whereas; The National League of Women Voters as one of the participating organizations in the conference on the Cause and Cure of [war?] favored the following political measure as one which it believes tends toward that national security which we seek, to wit - "The restoration in the Department of State of the U.S of A. of the office of Under Secretary of State for Peace whose special function should be to foster international understanding and peace." therefore be it resolved that the I.L.W. Voters unanimously indorse such a proposal and urge its National League of Womens Voters to present same to the Department of State and that a copy of this resolution be sent to the National League in convention at Richmond, Virginia
