3 near. We shall be somewhere in India at that time but where, I do not know. Only eight more weeks and we shall be out of the orient - and I am sure that we shall both be glad. It has been a mental and physical trial - you wouldn't believe the actual conditions and what really existed in parts of this world. People usually think that travelling is all pleasure. Well I am able to say that is isn't - parts are a pleasure but again some is depressing and as I said before a mental torture. I am sure that Europe will be more restful and more pleasant that the orient could ever be. We feel grateful to you for your letter. Do mine reach home regularly? - I think that I manage to write to someone quite often and why don't more of the folks write - Bob, Anne, Ruth, George and everyone else? They all owe me letters. It seems as though we are cut off from the world. Sometimes we don't see a newspaper for weeks and hear absolutely nothing that is happening in the world. If the conditions were reversed, I am quite sure that the family would appreciate a letter at every port. We have already purchased an additional piece of "baggage". This we filled with our "surplus" and the few things that we have picked up.
