countries in Athens. But time and fate did not permit. Probably I can do a bit of my story tomorrow before we arrive in Naples. (We are due the morning of the 21st) day after tomorrow. Sometimes it seems as though I have too many irons in the fire - but usually I feel that unless I get all I can that I shall be sorry later. This trip is awfully monotonous. We want the journey over with in a hurry and consequently time passes more slowly than ever. If the boat (a french line) weren't so dirty, so smelly, so old and more inviting, our journey would be more pleasant. We have had too many of these dirty uncomfortable voyages to take them philosophically - one can stand them once twice or even three times but after that they are a nightmare and that much too much. Our changed plans in regard to Italy, bring us into Rome for holy week. Probably holy week there will be more interesting than elsewhere - and I am sure that we shall be able to find accommodations at probably a very reasonable price. Anyway we have to spend holy week somewhere in Italy.
