It wasn't only about 2 min. after I got off the bus that somebody came up from behind & put his hands over my eyes & said guess who? I guessed it alright. We didn't make any plans last monday because we didn't know if we could get a pass or not but both of us did. Last night we went skating & took in some of the nice places around town. About 12:00 we went to the YMCA & tried to get a room but we couldn't get one with a double bed so we ended up in one of the finest hotels in S.D. Slack was broke but I had enough to pay for the room. It cost $2, now I'm broke. I think we will live off Slack's good looks the rest of the day. About all we can do now is go out to the zoo & look at some of the dears out there. Next week-end Slack will get paid & if both of us can get out we plan on going to San Bernadino to visit his Uncle. It's about 125 mi. from here. I didn't wait to answer your letter because I haven't gotten any yet. There is probably one waiting for me though by now. I did get a letter from you last Monday. I surely like to read your letters. They make me feel nearer to you.
