New Orleans La Dec 11, 1941 Dear Evelyn I'm taking it easy this afternoon so maybe I should get a little letter writing done. Don't know how soon I'll get the chance to again. Hows the world treating you. Working hard and no rest I imagine. Shouldn't be so long until Xmas now and then a two weeks vacation. Not bad! Looks now as if it will be a long time before I get a vacation. I was supposed to be released from the army about Nov 20. But they stopped that so I took a furlough. Sure glad I
