Northern Ireland Sept 9,1942. Dearest Erelyn I'll try and write a few lines this evening before I hit the [hay?] .Received your letter of Sept 1, yesterday. [sure?] was glad to hear from you.Mail call is one of the most important things in our life over here. we really like to hear the news from home. We're not doing anything much in the way of excitement. Every thing seems about normal. saw one of the younger fellows from my home town the other day. He came [?] before I did. They are stationed a mile or so from us here. Now [?] it seem with school starting and you not a part of it. you were at it quite a long time. I was beginning to think maybe you were aiming to make it your career. now its church work.Now long is it going to be [?] you [?] change that to a house wife .not before to get back to hope.
