Somewhere in England Dec. 6, 1942 Dearest Evelyn, Today was supposed to be our day off but we had to dress up and shine our shoes and go and parade for somebody or other. Don't mind the parade but I sort of like to take things easy on Sundays. I received your letter today Nov. 16. Really was glad to hear from you. It had been quite awhile since I had heard from you. Not since before I went on furlough. You are sort of having tough luck bicycle riding. Looks like the cars can't stay out of your way. I'll bet you look cute with your nose skinned up. I'd probably break my
