Miss Evelyn Corrie 202 Independence Ave. Waterloo, Iowa Sgt Clarence Clark 37042750 Co. E. 133 Inf. 2nd Bn U.S. Army P.O. #512 %Postmaster New York City, N.Y. May 24 1943 Dearest Evelyn Its just another day to us over here and today is one of those warmer days. The old sun is really bearing down. We've got a good deal of work to do but we're going to take it easy this afternoon until about 4 o'clock and see if it won't be a little cooler. One thing in our favor is that it cools off pretty good at night so we can sleep good. How goes everything with you back there. Its about the same as always with me here so there isn't much in the way of news that I can write about. I've been trying to pick me up some souvenirs from this part of the country. About all they'll take for some is bon-bon or candy but our supply of that is limited. I've collected quite a few old coins so far. Well we finally got up to were we can go swimming in the ocean. I went twice last week and it was really swell. A whole lot better than last Jan. when it was too cold and I went in. Whats news back there now. It seems like we get mail just once a month and the time is about here again. We've been getting plenty of canteen rations lately so guess there isn't much that we need. Guess this is about all for now. With all my Love Clarence
