Maureen O'Connor Italy November 29, 1943 Dearest Evelyn, Its another Sunday evening over here and every thing is nice and quiet so I'll try and write you a few lines.I was aiming to write you last evening but didn't get around to it. Too much company I guess. We are living in tents and I've rigged up a stone for ours and usually in the evenings some of the fellows are in here talking. Guess most of them are writing lines this evening or on guard because its been quieter than usual. Every thing is just about the same with us over here. I was in town yesterday afternoon and saw a show. "Sun Valley Sernade" with Glenn Millers' band. I really enjoyed it. They have an E.N.S.A. show in town and at least three of the civilian theatres are showing English speaking films now so we will be able to see plenty of shows from now in. Besides that the [outfit?] next to us here have about three every week that we can go see if we want too. Every thing was dry and brown when we came here and now it doesn't look like the same place after the rains. Its all green now.See a few tress or some sort it bloom every now and then and the road into camp is lined with rose bushes which are now in full bloom. It feels like it should frost about any evening but so far hasn't yet. Looks more like spring than fall. I got two letter from you last week. One of Sept. 4
