Thurs a.m. May 20 42 at school Dearest: I I do like the idea of working down there this summer very much. There are difficulties, however, which stand in the way. I am ordered by the Air Corps command to remain in the environs of Detroit. When I come down to Springfield I am taking the "bit in my teeth" and disobeying orders.
