week. Friday morning when you changed your shirt I started to come in your room. You had your back turned and I thought "what a strong, straight back he has. Like a statue." And almost I came on in and ran my hand down your shoulder. I turned on my heel and went into the kitchen, cheeks afire - not with embarrassment for it didn't occur to me to feel unnatural, but at thought of how shocked you'd have been if I had obeyed that impulse. Because it would have been no less than a miracle if you had understood it. Were the situation reversed I doubt if I would have. Goodnight, lover; I wish you were here for five minutes!
