It has been verry healthy here this summer crops extermely fine vegitables in great abundance prices tolerably good corn - new 25 to 30 old 35cts-- wheat go sw potatoes 35 to 50 irish 40 to 50 - turnips 20-25 - oats 150 pr hundred 25 pr bus pork and beef on foot 4 dollars retail from 4 to 8cts good horses range from 75 to 125, cows 16 to 25 dols David bought my log house at the sale and is going to put it on his lot in Sparta {at 25$ Mother has been verry sick with billious diere but has got able to go about we had supply of preaching from Mr Wallace then from Mr Bigger and Cunningham of St Louis we were at Sparta 2 days the time of Synod heard Mr Pressly from Cincinatti the editor of the Presbyterian preach and he can preach too - your fathers folks were all in usual health a week ago davids children had the chill and fever but got well i will have to close my Sheet being filled write rite off so I remain yours to Jos B Mcdill & Martha Amandy}{ H S Clendenin
