Sparta Randolph Co. April 20th/57 Dear Cousin I received you letter this evening and as my time is rather scanty I shall endeavor to answer it forthwith. We are all in good health except Mother and she is rather poorly but on the mend she is however able to be about the most of the time I was out to see your Father & Mother last week their health is as good as usual but Aunt's eyes have been sore and her sight is failing very fast she cannot see to read any now without the print is very large and plain. John McDill is gone to Keokuck. He conditionally sold his place to his brother David and is to give possession in the fall when David will move there if the bargain is confirmed. John is gone to Keokuck to build and intends to move his family up there as soon as he can get ready. David's folks are all well at present indeed health in general is very good at present although we have had quite a time with the measels this winter, they were all over Sparta we have all had them so we came off without any but that was rather an exception a whole family to miss
