Jordon's Grove Ill's. July 28th 1863 Mr. J.B. McDill Dear Sir. It is drawing near to the close of the year that you were to keep my colts and I would like to hear from them through you how they are getting along, and if you think you can keep them for me another year -- What do you think you could sell the two older ones for? Are they in good order? Is that wart well? Have you broke them to the saddle and harness? If so, how do they work? Why did you not just use them, and not go to the expense of buying Henry? I want to know as soon as possible what disposition you can make of them for me for the winter, if any; and on what terms -- For if I have to bring them down here I will want to do it before the river closes or boats stop -- or your year out -- Well, how do you get along collecting those "notes" the congregation owes me? I should like you would collect them this fall -- Mrs Fee & I have asked Will & Emma to tell us who they are that joined the Church last spring, but they have not told us -- will you give us the names?
