I want to know what you will do just as soon as you can inform me - for it may be that if you do not buy nor sell them, I will have the brought down here this fall - I think I can get them kept here for the service they would render to their keeper. I would like for you to have boys to ride them so as to accustom them to the bridle - if I should have to bring them down here, I will likely bring them by land - I will not want any molasses except what Mr Kenedy can furnish - not more than two barrels - the River is now open to the New Orleans market and the article will be very cheap here this winter - I would not like to promise more than 45 cts a gal. It is very dry here - no rain since the 1st of July worth mentioning - Tell Mr Dolarhide I want him to pay my road tax - I want you if you please to call and collect the balance of (Rust?) for our Mr Hasford and pay my tax for the year 1863, in Wapello. Mr Hasford was to pay me $36 for the year you know how much he has paid and what is shie - I would write you a longer letter but have not time - If you have as much as $100 or more on hands and can get a draft on N.Y. conveniently you will please send it - you may have (?) apartment to send it to Muscatine, and get a draft - I (?) use the money this week if I had it to pay for timber - Yours & R. N. Fee
