- 7 Jealousy. Well, it is certainly the most sincere compliment a person could receive. But it makes so much unnecessary unhappiness and discomfort. I make friends easily, though not closely. I have a few close friend for whom I bear considerable affection. But you certainly understand that such affection, while genuine, is entirely different and less, than the love I have for you. I have a great interest and pride in many inanimate objects and pursuits, but there again they are as naught beside you. Yet I can see how you might conceivably become jealous.
