Sunday, [October 17, 1943] Dearest: Yes. There will be periods when you will not hear from me; but they won't be long ones. Not for the present at least. I have every expectation of being based, most of the time, within the 48 States. When you don't hear from me it will be because I am on a flight. You can send mail to me here until I give you some other address. Should I move unexpectedly they'll forward it by air. (for the entire squadron, not just me.) I feel just as you do about autumn.
