[October 13, 1943] Tuesday, Hello dearest: Another day on the ground. Not that I'm not just as busy as ever; the cold just seems hang by me. I'm glad you weren't indignant when I said (or it seems that I implied) I couldn't satisfy you with letters. I'm not a very good letter writer as you know by now; I don't how it is with the other branches of the army but we have (never have had) very little time free. Such free time as we have comes at odd hours and unexpected places. And it takes me considerable time to write. I don't worry about what I cant do; never have. I do the best I can
