Thursday p.m. 2/11/43 Dearest: Just a quick line. Your package arrived. We enjoyed it. Some of the watermelons are still here. We had a h--- of a time getting the cover off the watermelon rind jar. It took 4 soldiers and a hammer but we finally did it! I enjoy your chatty letters. Keep them just as you are. I'll soon feel as though I know your family well. That you might like to see these cards. Remember I love you. Burton
