1 Friday, 16 April 1943 My dearest: Golly that was a nice long letter I got last Wednesday - (nothing arrived yesterday, but I expect it will be two today.) I love to get long letters though I know its hard to find time. I imagine that you have been a bit surprised at the sudden spurt of letters I've sent out this last week or so. I've had a bit more time than usual so naturally I spent a goodly portion of it on you..... either thinking or writing. It is hardly a good way to prepare you for what's to follow by sending you many letters. For letters will be fewer in number, not greater, in the next four weeks. We have received general information about the period of our work. It looks
