Wednesday 29 July 1943 Dearest, I am sitting here looking at the after glouw of sunset. To the west the clouds are pale saffron against the blue-green of the horizon sky. The firmament shades deeper and deeper until it becomes that dark turquoise near the zenith. To one side are a host of little clouds, delicately tinted, on the underside, with fushia and on top a soft blue-gray. It's lovely. If you think a storm can be viscious, you should
