Woodland Farm, near Chariton Iowa Apr 26 1868 Dear Pa & Ma Mary received a letter from Laura this week, but as she has a severe head ache today I will write and she will write to Laura soon. Every letter we receive and they are few enough, we are expecting to hear something about you coming out. Lately you have said nothing about it. We certainly hope you will both come and we want both of you and we would be glad to know the time you expect to come. We are all enjoying good health and getting along very well so far as I know if the grasshoppers dont eat everything up for us this year. I have sowed about 20 acres of wheat and about the same amount of oats and shall put in about 40 acres of corn. I am putting out an orchard of 100 apple trees
