Head Quarters 6th Cavy Camp Hendershatt Davenport Dec 16th 1862 Governor General Baken informs me than among other matters on which he has written you, he has mentioned the matters connected with our regiment, but at the request of Col Wilson and Wm Williams who arrived here yesterday, I have undertaken to lay before you more fully the matter of our consolidation, and some other matters of interest to us. Wm Williams has brought to the General a letter from Wm Markell turning the Sharp Shooters over to him (W) and this will leave the whole matter in the hand's of W
