U.S. Christian Commission CENTRAL OFFICE: 11 Bank Street, Philadelphia. BRANCH OFFICE: 10th and H Streets, Washington. St. Johns Collage Hospital Annapolis, MD Ward 2, Dec 19/64 To the Adj Genrel of Iowa, the Sergeon in charge here advised me to write to you & get a certificate so that I may be sent to my state & be discharged, as I have served my time, I was captured the 11th of July 1863, & was paroled Dec 28, 18/64, yours &c Thomas Shannon Co. D, 4th Iowa Infantry
