I was a prisoner July 15th when time of Service expired and cannot learn where the descriptive books are, have understood they were in your Office, wish to know if there is any possible way of my being Discharged without leaving the State, by answering and giving such information as you think proper. You will oblige one of your Soldiers who has fought and suffered evrything but Death for more than three years one of which will not soon be forgotten. I am yours &c Oliver H.
