January 1st 1880 --- Birthday Feb. 6. Cora Scofield. Washington. Ia. 10 yr. Pine Grove When I woke up in the morning I did not think of saying "Happy New Year" to my sister so she wished it me first, that evening Grandma Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Jenny and Charley Dayton also cam down from Iowa City a cross the country. Jan. 8. Sat. I do not know what I did in the morning but in the afternoon I went skating with Carrie Latta and had a very nice time though I did have a good many falls (for I was just learning how) and stayed till almost supper time. Jan. 9. Sun. In the morning I bathed and in the afternoon I went to Sunday school. Jan. 10 Mon. I do not know what I did in the morning but in the afternoon I went over to Edith Simmons to prepar for a Christmas tree for our dolls on the morrow. Jan 11 Tues. In the morning we (my sister and myself) went over to Edith Simmons to fix the Christmas tea which we were going to have in the afternoon and in the afternoon
