July 21 Mamma received a dispatch last evening saying "Brother Linn passed away this morning, funeral Sunday" so she goes this evening and Miss Walton goes with her. Miss Parkins will stay over Sunday. I went to Mrs. Everson's yesterday and staid to supper, she treated me quite well. I suppose because Miss Walton was there. Bessie has just come, will have to stop. July 22. Mamma, Papa and Allie Walton, went last night. Miss Parkins will go home to morrow. Bessie came down and staid all night and prephaps she will come down again to night. I guess Mamma and Papa will come home some time to morrow, I hope so, for I am afraid our hired girl will set the house on fire or some such awful thing. I have commenced the "History of Independence Hall, I think it is going to be real good.
