Al Holt repersented [sic] a devil although he was dressed in white. I danced one quadrille with him but did not know him. Some one pressed his hand to my heart, I guess it was Max. I went to a dance the 29 of last month with Will Warner. I wore a white mull shirt and a pink silk waist. [illeg.] years the gents [received?] and we went to call they [sic] also was a dance in the evening but I did not enjoy it very much. Yesterday my pink satin dress came. There was 22 yds. 6 of [brocade?] and sixteen of the plain. The price was $2 a yd the plain $1. Altogether $[28?]. I drew the money from the bank and sent it to [illeg.] where we got it. I have [$20?] left now. Mrs. Dr. Chilcoth was just here and interrupted Mr. Ball has brought me home 6 or 7 times, George Holder [ ] 4 times; Carl Simmons once and Cam Patterson once. Mr. Glaize asks if I had company [illeg.]
