Jan, 19, 1884. I am writing in bed. I have been to the rink. THe couples skated for [illeg.]. I skated with Al Holt but [Maggie?] Wilson and Dave Bernoughs got it. Mr. Ball brought me home. He said to me "you went out alone the other night" and I said yes he said "you should not have done that when I was there", just as though I would ask him. I wouldent. When I got home I found Mr. and Mrs. Seller and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace [there?] playing cards. I went and had my dress fitted this afternoon, I think it will be just lovely. Then I went to Dell's. She said that she went to Ainsworth Wed. evening and got back about 12 o'clock. SHe went with Mr. Ball. Al Holt took Kate Burroughs, Dan Simmons took Eva Dye, and John Parkinson took Daisy [Brillow?]. She said "they had quite a "lark"." Must stop and go to sleep.
