April 26, /84. I have not written in my journal for a long time, simply because there was nothing to write about. I have five little kittens now. They were born a week ago Thursday. The old cat is, of course, very proud of them. Dolle Daugherty and Lulu [Canfield?] were over to see them yesterday. I think I will keep one of them, if they dont all die. Clara's school will be out 7 weeks from last Thursday. I am going to write to May now so will stop. May 3./84. This is the second aniversay of Foxie's death and I could not shed tears, as Clara requested me to do for her, I placed a bouquet on his grave instead. Last night they had an impromtu dance at Mr. Wallaces. I went with Dell and Bertha. J. Parkinson must have [illeg.] Dell, so Papa, Mamma and myself went home with Bertha. Clara has had a fuss with Charlie so I do not expect him to accompany me home any more. I am awful glad they have had a
