Feb. 12. 1885. After the ten o'clock bell. Had the blues very bad today. Uncle Fred was here for dinner. Week from Sunday is Washington's birthday. Will have a holiday Mon. Think we will go to New York. Very cold weather. We had a spread on my birthday. Clara presented me with that + Nettie gave me some lovely [pinks?]. Splendid time. Room in 91 now. Like it real well. Feb. 15. I cut chapel this morning to read "Phyllie". Forgot to take of my apron for dinner. Felt very cheap. Went to see Miss King this afternoon. Wrote a letter home and one to Stell this evening. Mamma is going to send me an express package. Hope it is my guitar. We wrote to her to send us some candy and jam. My light must go out. Feb. 22. Have written five letters and a postal tonight and I feel as though I deserved a brass button. [I sent?] a [squelcher?] to Will Bishop. [Preeie?] gives a reception to the students tomorrow night. We go 7..30. Went coasting last night. Met some more Seniors. Strained my arm the other night when
