[December 1943 - postmarked Dec. 20] Monday a.m. Dearest: Back in Salt Lake City again. I mailed two letters to you here last night. One I had written the night before and figured it would get to you quicker if I carried it to S.L. myself. But the other! Two days ago I wrote and one of the boys going toward the post office, offered to mail it for me. Yesterday he took it out of his coat pocket and sheepishly admitted that he'd forgotten. Forgotten! The nerve of it! That's the last time I trust anyone else to accomplish such a vital job. I met Lorraine Lindblad last night. She works here at the hotel
