26 Wednesday April 27th 1864 Marched this A.M. at 9.30: the 2nd and 4th Divisions to go by the Long Bridge and the 3d Division via Alexandria. Marched about 16 miles when we halted for the night. Thursday 28th Passed through Centerville about 11 oclock this morning, Friday 29th Started out this morning at 8.30 oclock and halted for the night at Warrenton Junction. Received our first mail since leaving Annapolis Md. My mail consisted of two letters viz from Rosa C. Lowe and James M Pennypacker and also a beautiful red covered Bible from Miss Mary Eriesenler.
