27 Camp near Warrenton Junction, Va Saturday, April 30th 1864 Received orders to be ready to move at a moments notice, but did not move until ten oclock and then only changed position. Mail contained six photographs and two letters for me - from sister Annie and Miss Mary Eppihimer. Sunday May 1st The regiment was mustered to day. Companies A and B were sent out on extra duty, the nature of which I have not learned. Monday 2 A very heavy Rain and hail storm today - General Order #23 - Commanding men to be shot for refusing to do duty was read.
