48 Monday, May 23d 1864 The line of march was resumed at 5.30 this morning - crossed the Poe river at two oclock. The noise of battle comes from our right and left, and now at 6.45 oclock it begins to look serious in our front - the pickets are firing and the artillery have dashed past. Being near the North Ann river it is reported that the Reb's are heavily intrenched on the opposite side Tuesday 24 Our supply train came up to about two miles from the Brigade and then sent word that rations would be issued from that point, however General Wilcox changed
