70 it was not approved. (No sick men are to be counted in the requisition) This made our Colonel angry, and because the Brigade Commissary had issued the whisky before the papers were properly signed, he refused to sign a new requisition. The other two regiments of the Brigade (46th New York and 24th New York) had their papers fixed up without any trouble. The whole difficulty in our regiment is that too much whisky is used by both officers and men. John C. DeHart of Company H and Wm K Surles of Company C were wounded by rebel sharpshooters.
