114 Front of Petersburg, Va., (Left flank) Tuesday Sept. 20th 1864 The regiment worked on the fortifications again today: are building a large Fort. Benj. Fredericks, of Co. "H", returned to the Company. Wednesday 21 An official circular was read to the troops announcing the capture by Sheridan of nearly the whole of Early's forces in the Shenandoah Valley. An order was issued this evening; that all Infantry Soldiers must wear the shoes furnished by the Quarter Master Department, and that Regimental Commanders will be held responsible for the fulfilment of said order. Thursday 22 Circular announcing the success of Kilpatrick's raid in Georgia, was read.
