124 Near Peeble's House, Va. Sunday Oct 9th 1864 Received certificate stating that my Taxes had been paid and that my name appears on the assessors list of Chester County, Pa. Quarter Master Eckel issued Clothing - I drew two pairs of stockings. The following promotions were announced on Dress Parade: Sergeant John A. Snyder, of Company H to be 1st Sergeant of Co. H. Corporal Henry S. Francis to be 2nd Sergeant vice Snyder promoted, Corporal Henry Carl to be 3d Sergeant of Company H. Ordered addressed Envelopes for Frances and Carl, from Geo. C. Jenks, Washington, D.C., One pack for each.
