127 Near Peeble's House, Va - Sat'day, Oct. 15" 1864 David Dampman lost $75 00 of Mr McGrath's money, (Our regimental Sutler) A Surgeon of the 8th Michigan regiment was assigned us today - (Good for Wilcox and Michigan -) Hospital Steward A.H. Schaffer went home today on furlough to appear before the Board of Medical Examiners, preparatory to being commissioned as an Assistant Surgeon of the Regiment. Sunday 16th Wrote a resignation for Harrison S. Gechter, as first Lieutenant of Company H. 50th Regiment P.V.V. Abel F. Pennypacker called to see me and took supper with me.
