128 Near Peeble's House, Va. Monday, Oct. 17th 1864 The 24th New York Cavalry regiment, of our Brigade, have orders to go to City Point tomorrow morning for their horses. Regimental Inspection. General Hartranuft has gone home on leave of absence. Orders were read, on Dress Parade, allowing men to go home, on furlough provided proper excuses were given. Lieutenant Gechter, of Co. H. received a telegram announcing the death of his wife. Put in requisition for Two pairs Drawers Two pairs Stockings and Two Shirts, for myself.
